Richard Clark undertook his undergraduate training at The University of Tasmania and then a PhD in marine natural products chemistry in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Queensland. He then worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute for Molecular Biosciences with Prof. David Craik studying cyclic disulfide-rich peptides. In 2011, with the support of an ARC Future Fellowship, he established his independent lab at the School of Biomedical Sciences, UQ, where he is now currently a Senior Lecturer in Drug Design and Development. His research interests are focused on the discovery, synthesis and structure/function relationships of disulfide-rich peptides including venom peptides and peptide hormones. His lab is also interested in developing these molecules into potential therapeutic leads.
